Before you build your garden gate gather your supplies.

To make the jig attach a 5 in long strip of wood 1 16 in.
Lumber a kreg jig drill drill bit driver screws two hinges a latch a stapler and netting.

2 x 4 top and bottom boards 2 full width of gate.
Each jig has a stop that extends to meet the back of the fence.
This jig enables you to make tiny accurate adjustments in positioning a router table fence.
To install the gate we placed our spring hinges onto the gate.
The sliding jig shown in the illustration at right is similar to the tall fence you made earlier.
Next we attached the hinges to the fence post.
The stop is a simple cap screw that you turn with an allen wrench.
A pair of jigs clamp to the tabletop one at each end of the fence.
If it is wider you must make and hang two gates which will meet in the middle.
Then we placed a 2 4 scrap board on the ground and placing the gate on top of the board.

Measure the entry at the top and bottom as they can easily be different.
You ll find that making a sliding jig for cutting tenons and splined miters is also a great addition to your table saw.

The jig keeps your hands well away from the blade and you can rip as many pieces as you need without ever moving the fence.
